Radiant Heater Lockout Reset

Radiant Heater Lockout Reset

IMPORTANT: Do not attempt to reset the heater more than 3 times, as dangerous fuel mixtures can build up. Contact a qualified Gas Safe engineer if further help is needed.

When the controller (thermostat) calls for heat, first, a pump will turn on (which is attached to the end of the tubes). Around a minute later, the burner box will attempt to produce a flame up to three times. If it fails to produce and maintain a flame, the burner will lock out. The pump stays on whilst the burner tries to light a flame, and after it has locked out (for up to 3 minutes).

The bottom face of the burner box has a viewport that can be used to check if a flame has been produced. There are also at least two lights on the side face of the burner box: one to indicate that the pump is running (fan symbol). And another to indicate whether a flame has been produced (flame produced).

After calling for heat, if the pump doesn’t turn on, make sure all fuse spurs (power supply) connected to the heating system are on.

Make sure the valves on the gas supply are open (open: handle parallel to gas pipe; closed: perpendicular to gas pipe).

To reset the burner, turn off its power supply from the fuse spur, leave it off for 10 seconds, then power it back on.
